FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS SPECIFIC TO WEDDINGS:
What is your approach at WEDDINGS?
I like to photograph the getting ready, ceremony and reception photo-journalist style, blending in with your guests with minimal intrusion so that I can capture natural and candid moments as they unfold. Whilst other parts of your day ie family photo time and bridal party photos I will obviously need to direct a little. I love everything about Weddings but my favourite part of the day is definitely when I can take you as a couple aside and capture some beautiful, romantic and natural photos of you. I usually get you set up in a spot where the lighting is most flattering and just let you be yourselves in the moment. My aim is to get a variety of images for you to treasure and the most gorgeous natural shots possible as these are always the favourites!
Do you take any formal family/group photos?
Yes, and who and how many is totally up to you. I send you a Family Photo list to fill in and request that you return same to me by 2 weeks prior to your wedding. I also recommend that you delegate a bridesmaid and groomsmen (or other friend who knows your family members) to round up guests on each side ready for their photo. This really helps!
Should I have an ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
I will make sure we capture stunning images of your Wedding Day regardless of whether you choose to have an engagement shoot or not. However, I do LOVE engagement sessions as a way to get to know you and your chemistry as a couple. They are hugely popular amongst couples because you not only receive stunning and natural images of yourselves that you can use for your wedding but also because by the time the wedding day arrives you will feel more relaxed, totally comfortable in front of my lens and confident that you will look gorgeous in your images!!! Please note that some of my packages include a COMPLIMENTARY ENGAGEMENT SHOOT.
Do we meet you before the wedding to talk about our plans?
I would love that. If you would like to book an informal, no-obligation free wedding consultation at a location in Playa Del Carmen please just get in touch via my CONTACT page or for long distance couples, I’m happy to arrange a chat over Skype or Whatsapp’. If you have decided that you would like to book me then I will arrange a consultation to talk more about your wedding plans including scheduling, location preferences, any special requests you may have, either over the phone if you are long-distance or in person. If you choose to have an Engagement Shoot this will be another opportunity where we can chat about the logistics of your wedding.
Do you have any suggestions on the best scheduling for my Wedding Day?
Yes, once you have booked me for your wedding I will send you a Draft Wedding Day Timeline based on the most flattering light for your photographs for that particular date. We will chat together and come up with a tailored Timeline that suits you best.
How many hours do you recommend for photos?
My most popular package is the 6 hour package as it covers almost everything from getting ready photos right up to a bit of dancing at your reception. But I do have 4 hour packages through to 8 hour packages, with the option to add on extra hours if you choose. WEDDING PACKAGES
Are the hours continuous or can they be split?
Hourly coverage is continuous.
How long do you stay on the day?
That is totally up to you and the wedding package you choose. If you have booked a package but then decide on the day that you would love us to stay longer, the hourly rate is $350 per hour extra and can be paid on the day.
Do you require a meal on the day?
YES PLEASE 😊 if we are covering your reception! It is a very busy day for us from the moment we see you right through to the reception, carrying our heavy cameras and equipment around all day, constantly thinking on the go, and being ready at every moment. This all uses a surprising amount of high energy so as you can imagine we definitely need refuelling for our brains + bodies to function their best.
Additional note* We highly recommend asking your caterer to arrange for us to eat right after your bridal party does. Not because we think we are special, but because we think you are and this utilises our time the most productively. Not many people enjoy being photographed when they are eating so this is a perfect time for us to be eating. It also allows us to be ready and raring to go, when all the action begins again: eg for speeches, visiting and chatting to your guests, cake cutting, first dance etc. We don’t want to miss any action!
What do you wear on the day?
We like to blend in with your wedding guests so I usually wear a simple dress and my hubby usually wears black pants and shirt, minus a tie as it gets in the way of his camera.
What if it rains on our Wedding Day?
It’s natural for couples to worry about this because weather is the one thing that cannot be controlled but good preparation can eliminate that worry, along with my extreme weather guarantee below. My advice is to ‘prepare for the worst & hope for the best!’ How:
Regardless of whether the forecast says sunny always bring along plenty of umbrellas for you and your bridal party so you are not caught off guard.
Invest in some cool umbrellas that suit your colours and theme this way we can have fun with the rain and use it to our advantage to get some awesomely cool shots!
In the months leading up to your wedding, look for sheltered back-up locations. I visit your venue and locations prior to your wedding day to make sure there are locations we can use for your family photos, bridal party and couple photos, in the event of bad weather.
If you are having an outdoor ceremony/reception ie on the beach or in a garden please have a back-up location in mind just in case and advise me of same.
Extreme Weather Guarantee: in the event of extremely bad weather ie a cyclone, flood or torrential weather that does not allow us to get any couple shots of you on your day, you will be given the option to have a complimentary post-wedding couple shoot, where you get to dress up in your wedding outfits all over again and be photographed with the love of your life for 1-2 hours at a location of your choice on the Riviera Maya!
FAQS SPECIFIC TO WEDDINGS IN MEXICO?
What is a vendor fee? Who does it go to?
A vendor fee is typically charged in Mexico by All-Inclusive Venues. They charge this cost directly to you, the client, and the fee goes directly to them. What is this fee for? Your All-Inclusive Resort is basically charging you for the privilege of using your own Photographer who is not part of the Resorts wedding package. Always ask about this first before deciding on and booking your venue, as the vendor fee can range from a mere $50 USD to up to $800 USD depending on the Resort. But remember you are the potential Client! Don’t be afraid to ask for a discount…. ¿Cuál és tu mejor precio? Also, many venues are now offering the option to waive the Vendor fee if the couple pay for the photographers to stay at the venue along with their guests at the group rate, so be sure to check your best option as it’s always an advantage to have your photographers already staying at the venue ready to go.
What if I forget to arrange and pay for the vendor fee?
If applicable you must pay the vendor fee. Otherwise the resort will simply not allow your Photographer/s past the front desk. Make sure this is organized well in advance and have something clearly stated in your contract that the fee has been paid for the Photographer and be sure to confirm when you first check into the resort.
Is a Vendor Fee charged by all Venues in the Riviera Maya?
No, private villas and other venues don’t however, we recommend you check with any venue before booking your wedding, just in case.

How would you describe your style?
Gorgeous, natural, warm, vibrant and creative with an emphasis on capturing your unique personalities and chemistry in a fun and super relaxed way. What is it like to work with you?
My goal is to have you feeling relaxed within 5 minutes of meeting me 😊 It will just feel like you are hanging out with a couple of friends and you’ll forget your being photographed, until I show you the back of my camera. Then when you see yourself looking totally awesome, you will transform into ‘hey I’m a supermodel’ mode (yes, even the shy ones) and we’ll have a blast! Trust me, even the ones who say “Oh we only want a few photos because we hate being photographed, end up saying, hey this is so much fun, just a couple more + all start coming up with their own moves!” This is the most common scenario anyway 😉 But once again, don’t take my word for it, please have a look at some TESTIMONIALS from our gorgeous clients to see what they say!
What if I’m camera-shy and don’t know how to stand or what to do with my hands?
Rest assured, I’m super easy going so there’s absolutely no pressure and l generally give you some direction to get you started ie where to stand for the most flattering light, where to put your hands then all you have to do is be yourselves and interact with each other as you normally would. You’ll be surprised how easy and fun it is!
What areas do you cover?
I predominantly cover the Riviera Maya but if your wedding or portrait shoot is going to be interstate or overseas then please get in touch as I love to travel and would love to hear about your plans.
Do you charge for travel costs?
Not if weddings or photoshoots are on the Riviera Maya. If, further abroad I charge a minimal cost to cover fuel. If interstate or overseas simply add travel costs to the package you choose (ie + flight/accommodation).
Do you use professional equipment?
Absolutely. All of my equipment, including my back up equipment is professional – from my two Canon 5D Mark III cameras, multiple Canon L Series Lenses, Sony A7iii Camera + GMaster lense, multiple 600 EXRT II flashes right down to my multiple battery packs and memory cards.
Who will take our photographs?
Me! (Amanda). If your package includes 2 photographers this will include myself and my husband (Michael). We love to work as a team. ABOUT US
How many photos do you take on the day?
How many photos will I receive?
For Weddings: approximately 75 edited images per hour.
Do you provide us with the High Resolution images?
Yes. You will receive the high resolution images (free of watermarks) and will be able to print them at any size at your leisure.
Do you ever provide clients with RAW (unedited) image files?
No RAW images files are not provided under any circumstances.
How will I receive my images?
I will send you a link to a password protected Online Gallery.
How does the Online Gallery work?
This Gallery will contain all of your edited images in both High Resolution (for printing) and Web Resolution (for sharing on social media). All you have to do is go to the bar at the top, click on the down arrow and it will give you a choice to download the whole gallery at either high res or web res. I recommend you download the entire Gallery of high resolution images to your personal computer and copy the entire gallery to a second device as backup. You also have the choice to download images individually too, just click on the actual image and hit the down arrow. The web resolution images can be easily shared on social media.
Can I share my images on social media?
Yes, we love it when clients want to share their images. We only ask that you please PHOTO CREDIT: Dream Bella Photography. For example:

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dreambellaphotography/ and please do not use added filters on our photos as this misrepresents our work.
Who will process and edit our photos?
I will. I do not send your photos out to anyone for generic batch processing but rather I color correct each of your images individually to ensure that they are given the love and attention they deserve in accordance with my style.
When will I receive my photos?
For Weddings: approximately 4-6 weeks after your wedding, depending on seasonal workload.
I know how excited you are to see your images so I always aim to have them back to you as early as possible.
Can I purchase any printed products or albums from you?
Yes, your Online Gallery will contain an online store, where you will be given the option to purchase any prints, canvases and albums if you choose.
Can my family or friends purchase products too?
Yes, simply share your Online Gallery Link with them and they will be able to order too.
How do we book and secure a date with you?
First, get in touch to check that I am available and give me all the details that you can about your plans, dates, locations, ideas, etc by filling in the questions on my Contact Form. CONTACT
I will be in touch! If the date is available, I will email you a Contract which sets out details of your chosen package and payment details.
To secure your time/date especially for you (to the exclusion of other clients) I will require a deposit/booking fee (that will be taken off your total amount):
$700 Deposit/Booking fee for Weddings
While the deposit/booking fee is non-refundable, it is transferable to another date if that date is available.
When do we pay you?
Your deposit/booking fee is due to secure your date. The balance is payable 2 weeks before your Wedding Day
If for any reason you pay the full amount and have to cancel, the most you will lose is the deposit – and that is only if I can’t accommodate your new date.
How do we make payments and sign Contract?
We will send you a link to our online Portal where you can check our Quote, confirm your chosen package, sign Contract and make payment of deposit. You will be able to pay via CREDIT CARD using STRIPE. If you prefer to use another payment method please CONTACT us.
